September 29–30 | Samoset, Rockport, Maine
Members of the Maine Motor Transport Association (MMTA) were recently joined at the Samoset in Rockport by colleagues from the Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association (APTA) for the 20th annual Transportation Safety Conference. The event continues to be recognized as Maine’s premier professional development experience for Safety Directors, HR professionals, and others in the trucking industry across Maine and the Atlantic Provinces.
The day-and-a-half conference featured expert presentations on a variety of critical topics, including:
- MaineDOT Safety Initiatives
- Shared liability in crashes
- Medical examination processes and challenges
- Updates from the Maine State Police (Troop K)
- MMTA’s Career Exploration Trailer
- Safety Director panel discussions
- The impact of AI on insurance costs
- Workplace violence prevention
MMTA members also shared real-world “close call” and “near miss” camera footage, providing opportunities to discuss lessons learned, coaching strategies, and mentoring approaches to enhance safety culture.
Conference materials, including presentation slides, are available linked by topic above. MMTA expresses sincere gratitude to all presenters for generously sharing their time and expertise.
We extend special thanks to Great West Casualty Company and Old Republic Canada for their continued support as main conference sponsors. Our appreciation also goes to all MMTA Annual Sponsors and Conference Sponsors, whose contributions make this event possible.
We hope to see you at the 2026 Transportation Safety Conference in Atlantic Canada!
