MMTA has received requests from members for information regarding the COVID-19 virus and what business can do to prepare themselves. While it is important to note that Maine has limited cases to date, much of the rest of the country and the world are experiencing a Pandemic.
By the nature of what our Industry does for the economy of Maine and the rest of the world, our employees are in contact with people from around the world on a daily basis. Taking basic precautions during their work day is prudent at anytime of the year, but especially now. To date, we have not yet received specific Trucking Industry recommendations. We are monitoring the situation and will pass along specific information should we receive it. If you are not signed up for our newsletter or SMC email group, doing so will provide you with current information on many relevant matters of importance to our members. If you would like to sign up for our SMC email list, please email Tim at firstname.lastname@example.org. . Signing up for the Newsletter is free and available online at https://www.mmta.com/mmta-e-mail-newsletter-registration/.
In the meantime, the best source of information on the status of the outbreak and for information regarding what business can do to prepare, is the Centers for Disease Control in Washington and in Maine. Here are the two links to their websites:
