The John Austin Trucking Foundation is pleased to announce that Jason St. Hilaire has been awarded a $2,000 training grant to support the next step in his trucking career through upgrading his Commercial Driver’s License.
St. Hilaire has already built a strong foundation in the trucking industry, spending the past 17 years working as a professional driver. Throughout that time, he has developed a reputation for reliability, trustworthiness, and strong driving skills while providing consistent service and working as part of a team. Recent changes in his employment created an opportunity for him to pursue additional training and strengthen his qualifications for the next phase of his career.
By upgrading his CDL, St. Hilaire will expand the types of vehicles he is qualified to operate and open the door to new opportunities within Maine’s trucking industry. This advancement will allow him to remain competitive in the workforce and continue building on the experience he has gained over nearly two decades behind the wheel.
Recommendation letters submitted on his behalf highlighted his strong work ethic, leadership, and willingness to learn. Former supervisors described him as dependable, focused, and eager to take on new challenges, noting his ability to step into leadership roles and support others on the job. They also praised his professionalism, positive attitude, and commitment to safety; qualities that have helped him succeed throughout his driving career.
The John Austin Trucking Foundation award will help offset the cost of training and licensing, making it easier for St. Hilaire to complete his CDL upgrade and continue contributing to Maine’s transportation workforce.
The John Austin Trucking Foundation is proud to support experienced drivers like Jason who are investing in their professional growth while helping strengthen Maine’s trucking industry. We wish him continued success as he advances in his career.
