The John Austin Memorial Scholarship Fund is proud to announce that 21 scholarships have been awarded to deserving graduating high school seniors pursuing education and training directly related to the trucking industry. With total scholarship awards exceeding $50,000, this year marks the largest investment in students in the history of the Fund.
The 2026 scholarship program also received the highest number of applications ever submitted, reflecting growing interest among young people seeking careers that support Maine’s trucking and transportation industry. From diesel technology and commercial driving to logistics, business, and other transportation-related fields, this year’s recipients represent the next generation of industry professionals.
“These students represent the future of our industry,” said Brian Parke, Treasurer of the John Austin Memorial Scholarship Fund. “The record number of applicants and scholarships awarded this year demonstrates both the demand for workforce opportunities and the importance of supporting students who are pursuing meaningful careers in trucking.”
The John Austin Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to support students connected to Maine’s trucking community and to encourage career pathways that strengthen the industry.
