The John Austin Trucking Foundation is pleased to announce that Sagelee Dube of Sabattus has been awarded a $2,000 training grant to support her pursuit of a career in Maine’s trucking industry.
Dube recently completed the CDL B Truck Driver Training program at Northeast Technical Institute (NTI), where she demonstrated a strong commitment to learning and excelled in both classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction.
Her interest in the trucking industry began at an early age. In her application, Dube shared that she grew up watching her father, a professional truck driver and Maine Motor Transport Association member and developed a deep appreciation for the industry and the important role truck drivers play in keeping Maine moving. Inspired by his example, she decided to pursue a trucking career of her own.
As a single mother of three, Dube has remained committed to expanding her education and developing new skills that will provide greater opportunities for her family. She views earning her CDL as an important step toward building a stable, rewarding career in an industry she has admired for years.
